Afther my last post last week I never did a single run again. I might try a few tomorrow. Last year was to much a disapointment; and come to think of it; all that grinding ruined my holiday. I had a fabulous holiday this year; and made quite a bit of cash selling the gifts i got out of the 110 runs I did last week; and powertrading. Congrats to all that got a bear; and my sympathy to those who didnt.

I wish you all a fabulous 2010.

I ALWAYS fight for the snowmen. Some 500 runs this year, and only twice was I forced back to the door. Fighting speeds up the process hugely, 4-5 min runs are NORMAL.

Wave 1 can be split in two halves, so you can easily kill the Grentches about as fast as they come, losing 0 snowmen. The only tight spot comes at the end of wave 2 and the start of wave 3. There is no delay. They often wipe all your snowmen, so you have to tank 6-8 grentches by yourself.

Yes, TANK them. Not dodge, not survive, tank.

By getting the grentches on yourself, you let your snowmen accumulate, and right when you are unable to tank anymore, they come to your rescue.

Wave 4 is easy at that point, but sometimes you lose several snowmen making the boss group harder. But by this point, your skills are recharges, so you can tank them if necessary.

Nope, you can run straight past all the enemies up until the last battle. As a Monk I use the regen enchant which knocks the grentches along the way down as they hit you. Works perfectly, but you can run past without using any skills as well. You'll need Mmm Snowcone once or twice along the way, though.

EDIT: At the final battle I do join in the fight, though. Stand at the door and bombard the grentches from one group at a time. This ensures that if you lose your snowmen only 2/3 grentches will come for you instead of two groups. Works a charm!

I haven't done many runs this year, but everytime I do I help them. I stand behind them with them on the edge of my radar and move in just after the snowmen take the aggro.

Since they buffed flurry of ice, using that on the bunched up grentches helps take them down alot faster. I think ive only had to use snow fort once or twice this year, the grentches will only target me if all the snowmen are dead, and that very rarely ever happens.

I run to the door, read some threads here and there, pick up my drops, start over. I don't get it done very fast, but after doing a few hundred Snowball Dominance runs, I'm OK with letting the Snowmen take down the Grentchies for me.

Made it through 1180 runs this year without getting the drop. I'd be pulling my hair out in frustration if it wasn't a pretty good haul on items. The only other time I've run into something across my 20 something years of gaming that defied farming half as well as this miniature was probably the Pink Tail in Final Fantasy 4.

It's not over yet!!

P.S. Chest drops are assigned, so if you happen to lag out or not pick them up you get a Claim Item box when you're back in town.

also, that 200e price drop coincides nicely with the ecto price inflation, so it's really worth about the same :P
